About This Idiot...

After growing up in the fantabulous Delco trash culture of the 80's and 90's (what he calls 'the perfect childhood'), Jay Joseph became a true modern-day renaissance man whose life story reads like a Hollywood script. After barely serving with distinction as a decorated U.S. Marine (the stories are all true), Jay transitioned into the shadowy world of private investigations and intelligence work as a mole, all while building a reputation as a world-class drummer known for his explosive style and precision. Doesn't get weirder than that, does it?

Despite his eclectic successes with such private dick assignments, Jay eventually returned to his roots in performance and storytelling. Embracing the mic in a new way, he released his first stand-up comedy special, 'President of the United Hates', which blended raw humor from true life stories with the grit of real life. There were no rehearsals, dry-runs or even working bits out at shitty open mics in Minneapolis. He just put the show together and went out and filmed it. As expected, nobody liked it. Jay then followed this release up with a surprising Country Rock album, 'Leroy Dealer & The 25th Hour', showcasing yet another dimension of his artistry... albeit a very skewed dimension.

He then turned the lens inward with an unflinching audiobook memoir, The Access Road: True Stories of a Vagabond Veteran, offering listeners a front-row seat to the chaotic, thrilling, and often hilarious turns in his unique life.

Jay's latest creative leap, a streaming series called The Mall, dives into the absurd and nostalgic subcultures of current day shopping centers, blending dark comedy with true stories in a way that only Jay could pull off from personal experiences.

From military conflicts to comedy stages, Jay Joseph continues to defy expectations, proving that reinvention isn’t just possible... it’s his way of life.
